Structural Engineering & Conditional Assessment
We evaluate the condition of existing structures and identify what repairs, if any, are required. Assessments are conducted by a registered professional structural engineer and form the basis for any corrective repair design.
Remedial Repair & Adaptive Reuse
Churchill Engineering designs and implements corrective repairs to extend the useful life of existing structures, and modifies buildings to accommodate new uses. This includes reinforcing structural elements and creating new openings in load-bearing walls for accessibility, windows, or doors.
Underpinning & Shoring
CEI provides design, oversight, and construction services in eastern Massachusetts for underpinning and shoring of existing structures. These systems temporarily or permanently transfer load away from compromised or modified structural elements during repair work.
Bridge Design & Remedial Repair
Churchill Engineering provides municipal clients with structural solutions for bridge repair and replacement, with particular experience in remedial repairs at locations where access, utilities, or construction schedules make standard approaches impractical.
Coastal, Dams & Water Control Structures
CEI offers inspection, permitting, and remedial repair services for dams, seawalls, revetments, tide gates, and other water control structures. Most of this work is performed for municipal owners, with periodic phase I inspections of privately owned dams.
Expert Services
CEI provides expert services to support municipal efforts to remedy, or otherwise correct, unsafe conditions resulting from dangerous buildings or structures. We also provide forensic investigation and expert advice to litigants and their counsel who are involved in litigation resulting from structural failures.
